Attached are several photographs taken during the briefings prior to launch, of the pad prior to launch, the launch, and the scene after the launch of DISCOVERY for an International Space Station (ISS) mission. The launch occurred before sunrise on 5 April 2010.
Some Notes:
-The exhaust from the launch interacted with the atmosphere to create some very interesting formations.
-The sun was just rising as everyone was leaving - last photo.
-Special thanks are due to Kathryne Thorpe who provided the opportunity for me and Susan to see the launch and who helped make sure that the photography shoot was successful.
