This gallery is a collection of photos taken the Sunday before Memorial Day. It includes photos of the lush grass in the cemetery after lots of rain and sun as well as the headstones all marked with U.S. flags. Some headstones near the amphitheater also had single long stem roses that someone had carefully placed between the headstones and the flags. A warm, humid day with throngs of visitors paying their respects. In addition there are photos of the amphitheater, in the throes of preparation for Monday morning's ceremonies and a changing of the guard for the Tomb of the Unknown. A beautiful, but somber place to reflect on all those who have served and sacrificed for our country.
