The Naval Academy Class of 1976 has been on a four year mission to assist and mentor the Class of 2026 through their four years at USNA. That effort culminated with support for their graduation on 22 May 2026. Members of the Class of 1976 individually greeted and congratulated each member of 2026 and handed them their first set of gold uniform bars - used by both Ensigns in the Navy and 2nd Lieutenants in the Marine Corps. The bars were especially prepared - engraved on the back with "1976-2026."
This gallery captures a small collection of photos commemorating that day and the involvement by the Class of 1976. As one of the twelve that participated (and member of the Gold side team - not pictured), it was truly an honor to do so. While it was a gloomy and drizzly day, holding the event outside permitted both a flyover by the Navy's Blue Angels and the traditional hat toss - both captured in this gallery.
