This gallery captures images from the pre-ceremony luncheon, the ceremony, and the post-ceremony reception in which members of the USNA Class of 1976 donated swords (along with others) to the graduating Class of 2026. This was one of the elements of the Class of '76's participation in "Another Link in the Chain" which involved mentoring and bonding with the class 50 years behind them. Since I participated in the actual presentation of swords, there are no photos of donors and recipients at the ceremony, only at the reception.
Class of 1976 graduates and wives participated in the pre-ceremony luncheon at the invitation of Class of 1926 'Juniors' - descendants and relatives of members of the Class of 1926. The 1926 Juniors had kept the memory of the 1926 class alive by sponsoring awards for graduates each year. This year was their last year participating - in awards, having reached the 100 year mark since their parents (or grandparents) had themselves graduated.
