This gallery primarily includes photos taken on the night of 20 November in USNA's Dahlgren Hall where Class of '26 midshipmen celebrated their service assignments that were made known to them at noon the same day. Representatives from the Class of '76 were invited to participate in the first part of the evening as part of their connection to the Class of '26 through 'Another Link in the Chain.' Several '76 classmates made an appearance to cheer on the midshipmen. Most of the '76 representatives were captured in at least one photo, but there were a few that slipped under the radar and deep into the welcoming crowd of midshipmen - I'm sure. Notice that the midshipmen are all wearing baseball jerseys. Each service selection has it's own color jersey and color text - only a few required an explanation for us old timers.
In addition to the interior of Dahlgren Hall and the service selection celebration, night time photos of the Sup's home and the Chapel are included. You'll also notice that Tecumseh Court was blocked off with chain link fence as part of renovations to Bancroft Hall.
One last note is that at the southern end of Dahlgren, there are four boxing rings set up - which you will see in a couple of the photos. This is where boxing practice occurs as a result of the ongoing renovation of MacDonough Hall. One Class of '26 midshipman said that this is the only place they've had boxing rings her entire four years.
