This gallery is a collection of photos and sequences captured during the Commander-In-Chief's Tennis Challenge held in the indoor tennis center at Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, Virginia. Four schools participated in the event: Navy, West Point, Air Force, and Georgetown. These photos were taken during the match between Army and Navy on Saturday, 11 October.
Photographing tennis was a new experience for me. I experimented with different camera settings and lenses to capture serve and ground stroke sequences. I tried to catch both players from each of the matches, but ended up focusing on those courts where I had the best visibility.
I tried to capture nearly complete serve sequences and a few groundstroke sequences. I was amazed at how far the players lifted off the ground as they put maximum energy into both serves and groundstrokes.
I was able to visit the indoor tennis center again the following day when I photographed the Navy women's singles matches against Georgetown. Those photos are collected in a separate gallery.
